4 x 4 Tyres
If you want to get the best possible performance from your off road (4 x 4) vehicle, then it is essential to fit the right tyres for your vehicle. If you are not sure what the right type of tyres are for your vehicle then take a look at what the manufacturer fitted onto your vehicle when it was new. Our machinery allows us to fit any 4×4 tyre to your vehicle.
Low profile tyres
Low profile tyres are tyres with an especially short sidewall height, or aspect ratio, on a tire. This is the quantity of rubber between the outside edge of the wheel or rim, and the road. If you have a shorter sidewall, then this provides a more responsive handling and positive response to your steering wheel. This does however cause a rougher ride since there is less rubber between your rim and the road and you will feel each bump and imperfection on the road since it is sent directly to your suspension because of your tyres. Low profile tyres is quite a popular tyre sine people like the look of low profile tyres. Low profile tyres are no problem for Tyres in Transit’s qualified tyre fitters.
Time Needed
For the fitment of 4x tyres it could take up to 60 minutes, on rare occasions fitment takes longer. Anything less than 4x tyres, fitment should be complete in 45 minutes.
Lead Time
Lead time depends on if the tyre is in stock or if we have to order it. It is usually the same day but if the tyre needs to be orderd, most of the time fitment will be done the next day.
After Hours
An additional fee will be charged if you require tyre fitment after hours. If fitment is carried over into after hours no fee will be charged.
Invoice
Invoices will be sent with the Tyres in Transit representative who will be fitting your tyres. He will hand over the invoice and payment can be made during the fitment of your tyres. A pro-forma invoice can be sent via email or fax if needed.
Unsafe to drive on worn tyres
In the event that you are involved in an accident, your chances of bursting a tyre or shredding is highly increased if driving on a bald tyre (a tyre that is completely worn and has no tread). All tyres come with TWI (tread wear indicator) located in-between the tread of the tyre.
Once the tread of the tyre is flush with this indicator it is a good time to change your tyres, after this it is highly unsafe and illegal.
